Please DO NOT dispose of them in a dumpster, or along the side of the road. That's just plain rude.

Every season we see dozens of bad batteries, lost weekends and
serious maintenance issues caused by battery problems
Let a cell in a lead-acid battery run half-dry, even for a day and the battery
power is seriously compromised
Some Jetskis will crank over well and not start if the battery has a bad cell
(or two)

When you use a battery that is not a sealed type...
Explosive Hydrogen gas which is produced by normal Lead/Acid type battery operation can vent to the interior of your ski if the battery vent line is not properly maintained
Corrosive battery acid can leak in the event the ski flips over and this creates serious long term maintenance problems
(About half of the Skis that are serviced at Captain Pete's have some problem with the battery vent line which is designed to prevent this from happening)
Using a Sealed Battery has quite a few benefits:
You NEVER have to remove the battery to "top it up" ( and where is that bottle of distilled water you should be using?)
That nasty explosive gas is actually recycled within the battery, so you never have to worry.
You don't have to fuss with the battery vent line or check it to make sure the vent is clear all the way out of the hull
The Odyssey Sealed battery that we carry doesn't need to be charged up over the off season. Just disconnect the negative lead at the end of the season and reconnect it when you are ready to hit the water. Odyssey batteries use Military proven technology to provide a TWO year shelf life at nearly full charge if stored correctly
While priced higher then a conventional lead acid battery (not by much), these batteries are more economical, after you factor in a a couple of pairs of $30 blue jeans you ruin with acid spills and the aggravation of having to take the battery out for service and for end of season storage. Ask around, experienced boaters always go with Odyssey. More time on the water, less time fussing with batteries.
Buy a "throw away" battery every year and you'll spend far more on
batteries then you planned on ( $70 x 3 seasons = $210! + two pairs of blue
jeans x $30 =$240!!)

Speaking of fussing, NEVER NEVER NEVER jump start your Jetski..you can damage that very expensive computer used on all late model skis

Seadoo Skis will flash a 12v low warning
sometimes. Sometimes this is a false warning that a NEW battery will not stop.
The only way to be sure you'll have a full weekend on the water is to CONFIRM
proper charging of your battery when the engine is running
Please take note:
AGM batteries require specialized chargers
be SURE your charger states that it will support AGM batteries.
Using one
that doesn't will damage these batteries and void your warranty
